Elvin Walker Jr., age 98, of Ozark, Arkansas, died, Wednesday, February 15, 2023, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born October 28, 1924 in Webb City, Arkansas to Elvin Walker Sr. and Anna Chancey Walker. Elvin was of the Baptist faith and a Charter member of the Altus Eagles. He retired from Operating Engineers Local #12. He worked at Greers Funeral Home until drafted into Army Medical 35th Infantry. Later, after the war he met and married Tia Juana , moved to Louisiana, became a Farm Laborer, to heal from the Malaria that he got from the Philippines, then moved to California to work as a Heavy Equipment operator, moved back to Ozark in 1969 and operated an ESSO and Phillips service station, owned the Ozark Sanitation, worked for Chrisman Construction operating equipment and afterwards, drove a school bus. He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Tia Juana Agee Walker; his parents; five brothers, Harold, Bert, Russell, Gene Walker, and infant, Evert Walker; and three sisters, Pearl Yarbough, Mabel Graham; and Paulene Sproal.

Elvin is survived by one son, Rhan Elvin Walker and wife Raymonda of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; two grandsons, Cardith Walker and wife Traci of Odessa, Missouri and Garrett Walker and wife Heather of Collins, Georgia; one granddaughter, Lindsey Ellis and husband Jonathan of Wentzville, Missouri; three great grandchildren, Kinley, Rhett, and Peyton.

Open viewing-visitation will be 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark.

Visitation will be 9:00 A.M., Monday, February 20, 2023 at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 20, 2023 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark, with Brother Lewis Rue officiating, with burial at Highland Cemetery, Highway 64 West in Ozark, under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Garrett Walker, Charlie Walker, Cardith Walker, Derion Walker, Jonathan Ellis, Kayne Satterfield, and Greg Gowing.
