Selma grew up in Brooklyn and graduated as the valedictorian of her class in 1951 from Samuel J. Tilden High School. She attended Brooklyn College and then moved with her family to Miami, Florida, where she met and married her cherished husband of 35 years, "Sandy." The couple relocated to Orlando, Florida, where they lived for 13 years and their family grew with 4 children before moving to Hollywood, Florida and later Hallandale Beach, Florida. Selma resided in Boynton Beach, Florida for the last 20 years of her life.
Selma was predeceased by her husband, Sanford Roberts; parents, Regina "Belle" (Goldstein) and Aaron "Harry" Witte; sister, Marilyn Witte; and her grandson, Sandy Blake Roberts.
