He was the son of Albert and Sadie (Nelson) Kvistad. Joe served in the United States Army and married Marie Bahr on August 10, 1957, in St. John's Catholic Church, LaCrosse, Wisconsin. He had been a Janesville resident for over 45 years, and had retired from Chrysler, Belvidere, Illinois, after 21 years. Joe is survived by his wife, Marie Kvistad; three sons: Dennis (Jeanne) Kvistad of Janesville, David (Lisa) Kvistad of Middleton, Wisconsin, and Dan (Jenny Pockat) Kvistad of Janesville; one daughter, Barb Kvistad-Kronforst of Edgerton, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren: Katie (Chris Maas) Kvistad, Brian (Ashley Perkins) Kvistad, Lindsey Kronforst, Joe Kronforst, Ashlee Kronforst, Jack Kvistad and Sadie Kvistad; one great-grandchild, Natalie Kvistad; and a sister, Clara Paulson. He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings. His private funeral was held on March 6, 2008, with Schneider Apfel Schneider and Schneider Funeral Home assisting the family.
