Mrs. Clarissa Peters, a mother in Israel and an old and much respected resident of Steubenville, died Saturday morning at the advanced age of 87 years. She was born in Middletown, Conn. in 1808 and was married to J. B. Peters in 1829, removing to Steubenville in 1833 where she has ever since resided, Mr. Peters preceding her to the grave some years ago. Her surviving children are: Charles H., of Sharpsville, Pa, James of Steubenville and John B. of Bristol, Tenn. She was also the mother of the late W. R. Peters whose death last year was so universally regretted. She was a member of the First M. P. Church for more than sixty years.
