The former Betty Gerroll was born on August 11, 1928, in Valders, daughter of the late Herbert and Aletta (Auberg) Gerroll. She was a 1945 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School.
On April 17, 1948, Betty married Leo M. Holschbach at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc, he preceded her in death on April 21, 2016.
Betty retired from the Foley Company in 1989. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, the Rockwood Homemakers, Manitowoc Historical Society, St. Vincent DePaul Society, and the Manitowoc Senior Center. She enjoyed sewing, woodworking, baking, gardening, and bird watching.
Survivors include her three children: Michael (Vickee) Holschbach, Neenah, Stephen Holschbach, Menasha, Debbie (Bill) Birkholz, Cato; eight grandchildren: Tonya Johnson, Lindsay Kemker, Brenda (Kyle) Velissaris, Jason Holschbach, Nicholas Holschbach, Todd (Victoria) Birkholz, Beau (Andrea) DiLoreto, Maria (Shawn) Laubenstein; eight great grandchildren: Connor, Eddie, Liam, Jayden, Ryker, Bria, Taylynn, and Emmett; one sister: Phyllis Leschig, IN; two sisters-in-law: Amy Kaufman and Joycelyn Gerroll, both of Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Herbert and Aletta Gerroll; her husband: Leo Holschbach; two sons: Anthony Holschbach and Daniel Holschbach; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Robert Gerroll and Lawrence (LuAnn) Gerroll; three sisters and four brothers-in-law: Virginia (Bob) Barbeau, Shirley (Roy) Krestch, Janice (Ralph) Engelhardt, Walter Leschig; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law include: Reiny (Jeanette) Holschbach, Jeanette (James) Korinek, Ione (Marvin) Pankratz, Bob Kaufman, and William (Jean) Holschbach.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at St. Francis of Assisi- Waldo site, 1121 N.14th St, Manitowoc. The Rev. Doug LeCaptain will celebrate the Mass of Christian burial with entombment at the Knollwood Mausoleum at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM.
