Chesley was born on December 31, 1936, in Elvins, Mo, son of the late George D. and Beulah L. (Taylor) Black.
Chesley was a member of the Bismarck Masonic Lodge #41 AF & AM.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Ron Black, and one sister, Patricia Stout.
He is survived by his wife Betty Black, Bismarck; four sons: Wesley (Vicki) Black, De Soto; Lewis Black, Springfield; Donald (Deborah) Black, Broseley, and John (Jenny) Black, Dade City, Florida; one daughter, Barbara (David) gammon, Ft. Smith, AK.; four brothers: Vernon (Patricia) Black, Indianapolis, Ind.; Gene 'Tubby' (Marcie) Black, Farmington; Billy Black, Desloge, and Charles (Betty) Black, Herculaneum; one sister, Leota (Lee) Williams, Bismarck; twelve grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Tuesday, January 3, 2006, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Shipman Funeral Home.
Funeral service: Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Shipman Chapel.
Interment: St. Francois Memorial Park, Bonne Terre.
