Lenville Ard, 85 years of age, of Nancy, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, January 19th, 2008 at his residence.
Lenville was born in Naomi, Kentucky on August 16th, 1922, son of the late Luther and Vella Trimble Ard. He attended the Church of the Nazarene of Namoi. He enjoyed farming, traveling, and getting in his truck and going for drives. He served in the United States Army during World War II in Italy, N. Africa, and Sicily.
Lenville was survived by his loving wife, Stella Henderson Ard, whom he married on August 21st, 1944 in Stanton, Virginia; a daughter-in-law, Creola (and Argust) Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Ard and Vella Ard; one son, L.J. Ard, who departed this life in 1998; eight brothers, Chester Ard, Omer Ard, Oscar Ard, Wirth Ard, O'Neal Ard, Emery Ard, Ernest Ard, and Luther Ard; and three sisters, Grace Pierce, Iva Beshears, Onnie Simpson.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008 in the Chapel of the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Lester Caldwell, Bro. Larry Harris, and Bro. Ray Losey officiating.
His pallbearers were: Wayne Pierce, Wallace Pierce, Norman Ard, Wendell Ard, Wilmer Ard, and Ronald Ard. Her honorary pallbearers were: Lindon Taylor, Ronald Dye, Murle Akins, Finis Flynn, Milburn Tarter, and Wildon Trimble.
Interment followed in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Military Honors were conducted by the American Legion Post No#38 Honor Guard.
