Betty Jean Brister Ritchie, age 81, of Bentley, Louisiana made her debut in Glory on April 15, 2023.

Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023, with Interment following in Lone Pine Cemetery.

She was a loving wife of almost 62 years, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She retired from Grant Parish School Board and was a lifelong faithful servant of the Lord. Mrs. Betty cared deeply that her children and grandchildren had a relationship with Jesus, and she lived her life as an example to her family. She was a faithful member of Bentley Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 20 years. Betty was well known for her chicken and dumplings and always going above and beyond at family gatherings to make sure everyone had plenty to eat. Mrs. Ritchie was a selfless mother and wife, making sure that the needs of others were always ahead of her own. Even if that meant that she went without. At a very young age she survived Polio, but even with the physical disabilities it left her, she never let that stop her from being a hard-working wife and mother.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Travis Bordelon; parents, Frank and Estelle Brister; and brothers, Robert and Jack Brister.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Marvin Ritchie; children, Pam Look (Billy), Diane Ashcraft (Mike), Durant Ritchie (Lauren), and Kimberly Ritchie Tyler; sister, Shirley Canoe (Gary); brother, Charles Brister (Adele); 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
