Funeral services for Seymore Lawson were held Monday, Sept. 14 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with Rev. E.A. Burtle officiating.

Mr. Lawson died at his home in Mt. Sterling Friday. He was 77 years of age, a son of Isaac and Ellen Briggs Lawson, he was born in Brown county.

He was married to Mary Nettie Boss July 30, 1901 in Versailles, Brown Co. IL. They were the parents of two children: Edith Lawson Boone and James Leroy 'Archie' Lawson. Mary Lawson died March 29, 1914.

Seymore married Kathryn Ashbaker-Ring on December 26, 1947, and was a member of St. Joseph's Church. Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Edith Boone of near Hannibal, MO, a brother, Sam Lawson of Beardstown, two half-brothers, Harvey and Robert Bowen of Mt. Sterling, and two half-sisters, Mrs. Iva DeWitt of Mt. Sterling and Mrs. Myrtle Surratt of Denver, Colorado. Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews are also left to mourn his passing.
