Clinton B. "Clint" Cornell Jr., 73, of Summerhill, NY died Wednesday May 10, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones at Upstate Medical Center from injuries he suffered in a farming accident.

Born January 2, 1950 in Cortland, New York, he was the son of the late Clinton B. Sr. and Charlotte(Hillman) Cornell.

Having been a lifelong resident, he had been a 1968 graduate of Groton High School. He took over the family dairy farm on Route 90, Town of Summerhill which was established by his father in the 1940's.

Through the 1950's -1980's, Clint Sr., Lloyd and Clintie were Patz Barn Cleaner dealers and installers throughout the state and he sold farm tractors.

He was always tinkering with farm equipment working and fixing tractors and other equipment. He was known for his hay business and enjoyed tractor pulls where he won many ribbons and just driving tractors, plowing the fields. He enjoyed snowmobiling with his Scorpion snow mobile. He drag raced at Savannah and won trophies. Clintie was also known to be the "Honorary Mascott/cookie tester " for the Piecemakers Quilt Group. He loved the hugs from the ladies and unbeknownst to Linda, they were slipping him bags of cookies to take home with him.

He loved his animals especially his cat Buddy and was known as a cat whisperer to all the strays that visited the farm.

Clintie was always willing to lend a hand and a story or two to whoever he ran across. He enjoyed his weekly trips to Barb's Diner in Locke and keeping up with his farming buddies. He surely will be missed.

He is survived by his loving devoted companion of 37 years Linda Plunkett of Locke, his brother, Lloyd (Mary) Cornell of Springport, NY ,and their children, Linda's children, Greg (Grace) Plunkett, granddaughter, Autumn (Richard) and great-grandchildren Anthony, Aria, Jenna and Paisley, Donni Jo Plunket and great-grandson Rhett from Kentucky, Michelle Gingrich of Homer, NY, her daughter Saya and Clintie's daughter, Jackie Inman and children Bailee, Hunter, Reilynn and Ciera with her baby Eliana from Cortland, NY.
