Helen Rita Carabotta, age 95, passed away peacefully at LakeView Hospice Care in La Mesa, California on October 28, 2022. Helen was born the second and youngest daughter to Andrew and Anna Frances (Vitko) Sabol in Bucknell, Monroe County, Iowa.

Helen married Oliver Peter "Al" Carabotta on June 11, 1961, in Cleveland, Ohio. Al died on
July 5, 2008. During her working career, she was a Medical Transcriber in several hospitals in Cleveland.

Helen is survived by her son William "Bill" Andrew (Joyce) Moore, her grandson
William Christian (Crystal) Moore. Four step grandchildren Ian Smith, Rae Lynn
Smith, Neil Smith and Samuel Hames and several step great grandchildren. She is also survived by one niece Barbara Anne (Dennis) Sheller and one nephew Gregory Walter (Alicia) Szlempa. She also leaves one great niece and six great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Anne Marie (Walter Stephen) Szlempa; one nephew John "Jack" Andrew Szlempa; her paternal grandparents Michael and Anna Uhal Sabol and maternal grandparents, John and Anna D'Zuro Vitko. While we grieve her death, we know she is in heaven surrounded by loved ones and this is very comforting to us. We know her family in heaven was waiting for her with arms outreached welcoming her home.

A Memorial Mass Celebrating her Life will be Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Mary's Catholic Church with Father Mark Yates, C.PP.S. officiating. Inurnment will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Saint Mary's Cemetery.
