James L. Smith, a former section forman at Harvey Fifefield,lately engaged at farming on the George W. Carpender place three-fourths of a mile southwest of Fifield,died very suddenly of coute heart disease about 5:00 a.m. Sunday morning, October 30,1910. Aged 51 years 4 months.
It was not known that he was afflicted with the disease until about an hour before his death, when he was awakened with a very severe pain in his chest.

The funeral sevices were held at Harvey Tuesday forenoon, conducted by Rev. Smith. Internment in Eureka Cemetery.
