Eddie is preceded in death by his father Thomas E. Avis, his paternal grandparents George and Pearl Avis and maternal grandparents Charles and Ruby Ferrell.
Eddie was a member of the Chapmanville Church of Christ. He was previously employed by Mc Grew Tire, CSX, Arch Coal, and Blackhawk Mining.
Eddie was known to many as "Fast Eddie" or "Pops". He enjoyed riding his Harley, riding his sxs, playing in the mud, cheering on his favorite softball player Harper, taking his favorite boy Hayden to the shooting range, working in his garden, and cooking one of his many delicious meals for his family.
