DREW, Regina A. (Owens) - Age 86, of Flint, died Friday, December 3, 1999 at Genesys Health-Park in Grand Blanc. Funeral Mass will be held 2PM Tuesday, December 7, 1999 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. William Wegher officiating. Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Dodds Dumanois Funeral Home from 12-4 and 6-9PM on Monday with a Parish Vigil service being prayed 7PM Monday evening and visitation at the church from 12noon until time of service on Tuesday. Regina was born in Fosters, MI on May 29, 1913, the daughter of William and Mary Bridget (Courtney) Owens. She attended school at Birch Run Sacred Heart and received a teachers certificate from Nazareth College. She taught in a one room school house in Saginaw County in the 1930's and then at St. Mary's in Mt. Morris and in the Carman Schools during the rest of her teaching career. She resided in Flint most of her adult life. On August 28, 1937, she married Ambrose John Drew at St. Michael's Catholic Church. She was an active member at St. Michael's for over 50 years and was an office holder in the Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella and Parish Administration Committee and the Nazareth College Alumnae Association. In 1952, she joined with her husband in an insurance agency, after his death in 1958 she continued the A.J. Drew Insurance Agency until retiring in 1992. Surviving are: son, Richard and wife Mary Drew of Grand Blanc; daughter, Maureen and husband John Minaudo of Charleston, SC; 8 grandchildren, John and wife Laura Drew of Ann Arbor, Theresa and husband Greg Diedrich of Ann Arbor, Patricia and husband Patrick O'Leary of Milford, Matthew Drew of West Palm Beach, FL, Catherine Regina Drew of Chicago, IL, Philip and wife Angie Minaudo of Charlotte, NC, Andrew Minaudo of Fernandina Beach, FL and Michael Minaudo of Weaverville, NC; 6 great-grandchildren, Drew Diedrich, A.J. Diedrich, Mary Kate O'Leary, Colleen O'Leary, Ellen Minaudo and Anthony Minaudo. She is also survived by: 3 sisters, Sister Vivian Owens, S.S.J. of Nazareth, Rose Mary and husband George Pontseele of Flint, Clare Corcoran of Mt. Morris; and 1 sister-in-law, Rita Owens of Milwaukee, WI; and over 40 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her 4 brothers, Joseph Owens in 1962, Milton Owens in 1961, Bernard Owens in 1954 and Theodore Owens in 1989. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be sent to: The Sisters of St. Joseph, Nazareth Michigan Retirement Fund or the St. Michael's Church Memorial Fund.
