Gladys Graves Madigan
Gladys Graves Madigan died Sunday, March 16, 2008, at Landmark of Baton Rouge. Born April 1, 1908, in Norwood, she lived most of her adult life in Baton Rouge and was a member of the Presbyterian Church of the Way in Baton Rouge. She retired 40 years ago from the Louisiana Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Norwood on Saturday, March 22, at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Ed Carver. Family and friends are invited to gather immediately following at the Norwood Presbyterian Church Hall. Survivors include her son, Owen Parker and wife Nancy, of Georgetown, S.C.; brother, Dr. Thomas Graves and wife Sally, of Baton Rouge; three granddaughters, Susan Stobaugh Samuelson, of Belmont, Mass., Dawn Parker Tadlock, of Victoria, Texas, and Paige Parker Heath, of Bridgewater, Mass.; four grandsons, Blair Stobaugh, of Tampa, Fla., Clay Stobaugh, of New York City, Gregg Parker, of Greensboro, N.C., and Todd Parker, of Knoxville, Tenn.; 14 great-grandchildren, Couper, Maisy, Ned, Blair, Field, Parker, Joe, Andrew, Shannen, Conner, Kailen, Grant, Caroline and Sarah; four nieces, Yvonne Roberts, Rebecca Bellue, Jane Gould and Kelly Wolf; and a nephew, Sam Graves. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Blanche Pemble Graves; daughter, Beverly Parker Stobaugh; two husbands, Henry Couper Parker and Edward Patrick Madigan; brother, Alton Graves; sister, Mary Blanche Graves; and grandson, Bill Stobaugh.
