He was born October 6, 1948 in Orem, Utah, the son of David Thomas and Ruby Alberta (Luke) Nelson. He attended Provo High School and was in the services in Vietnam. He worked many years at Hill Air Force Base and "The Skate" on 9th East in Provo, as well as for Mike Caulder in various positions.
He was a collector of many things including Star Wars characters, masks, records, and cars. He enjoyed swap meets, D.I., music, and movies.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, David Thomas and Joseph Richard Nelson; three sisters, Beverly Jane Bird, Dianna Marie Demson, and Anna May Covington; as well as his parents. He is survived by three sisters. Many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, June 9, 2023 at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State Street, Provo, Utah. The family will receive friends at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to services.
