Joseph Richard Nelson, 71, passed away August 2, 2004 at his home in American Fork.
He was born Dec 23, 1932 in Provo, Utah to David Thomas and Ruby Luke Nelson. Joe married Marilyn Bird on Jan 3, 1956.
Joe was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved his family.
Survived by his wife, 2 sons and 5 daughters: ; 27 grandkids, 8 great grandkids, 2 brothers and 5 sisters.
Preceded in death by son Russell T. Nelson and son-in-law Travis Gustafson.
Funeral services 1 p.m. Friday, August 6, 2004 in the Anderson & Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49 East 100 North, American Fork. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 and 1 hour prior to services at the mortuary. Burial American Fork Cemetery with military rites VFW Dist 4.

Joseph Richard Nelson served in the military on September 3, 1950, when he was 17 years old. He married Lydia Marilyn Bird and they had eight children together. He died on August 2, 2004, in American Fork, Utah, at the age of 71, and was buried there.
