He played for the Seattle Seahawks in 1983 and 1984. Born in Oklahoma, Bryant, after his family moved to Colorado, played football at Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs, and also at the University of Colorado. He was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the 2nd round of the 1973 NFL Draft. While known primarily as a kick returner in the early part of his professional career, Cullen eventually became a starter at fullback with the Rams and compiled four seasons with at least 400 yards rushing for the team. As a pro, Cullen Bryant finished with 3,264 rushing yards and scored 26 total NFL touchdowns. He died of natural causes at age 58 in Colorado Springs.
