Alvin Vedder, Jr., 12, of the Cicero-Bridgeport Road, died at 9:45 o’clock last night in the Hospital of the Good Shepherd, victim of an unusual automobile accident near his home Friday afternoon. The boy’s death resulted from a fracture of the skull and shock. He was injured as he alighted from a school bus on his way home. An automobile driven by Sylvander Eastwood, 16, a North Syracuse High School pupil, struck the Vedder boy, according to reports received by Sergt. Solvay Perry of North Syracuse State Police. The handle of the car door struck the boy as he left the bus. He was hurled backward to the ground. The victim’s brother, David Vedder, 17, witnessed the fatal accident. The body was removed to the County Morgue for an autopsy.
