MRS. C. ROBERTS DIED AT MIAMI
Former Alexandria Woman Is Victim Cancer of Stomach
Word was received today of the death of Mrs. Mildred Hite Roberts, daughter of William Hite, 313 West Madison street, which occurred in Miami, Florida, at 12:45 p.m. Thursday. Death was attributed to cancer of the stomach.
Funeral services will be held in Miami at 9:30 Saturday morning.
Mrs. Roberts was born and reared in this city and in young womanhood met and married Canyon Roberts in June 1917 at St. Mary Catholic church here.
Mr. Roberts worked several years for his father who was associated in the shoe business here with Mr. Hite. In 1924 Mr. and Mrs. Roberts moved to Florida where Mr. Roberts accepted the management of an A and P store. Her husband, father, and step-mother, Mrs. Mary Hite, are the only surviving relatives. Her mother preceded her in death a number of years ago.
