"Wolcott - Albert James Hovey, one of the oldest residents of this village, died at his home on West Main Street at 4 o'clock, Wednesday, Feb. 7, in his 90th year. Interment will be made in the Lyons Rural cemetery. Mr. Hovey was born in Clyde, Sept. 29, 1850, the son of Hiram and Jane Smith Hovey, and was a businessman in Wolcott for a number of years. His nearest surviving relatives are a nephew, David Hovey, of Union, Miss., and two nieces, Elizabeth Starr, of North Hollywood, Calif., and Dorothy Rymers, of New Rochelle, N. Y. His wife, Clara Dutton Hovey, died in September, 1936, and Mrs. Hugh Compson had kept house and cared for him since that time." (Feb. 8, 1940, The Lake Shore News of Wolcott, NY)
