CLAYTON, NORMAN. Private. 5th Reserve Battalion Sherwood Foresters. Born Huddersfield 10.2.1899. Son of John Herbert and Ann Smith Clayton, 40 Cobcroft Road, Fartown. Educated at Almondbury Grammar School. A keen cricketer. Employed as a clerk. Enlisted 17.3.1917. Gassed 15.8.1918. Died at home, 40 Cobcroft Road, Fartown, from pneumonia and the effects of gas poisoning, 13.4.1919, aged 20 years.
Buried EDGERTON CEMETERY, HUDDERSFIELD.
