Per Corale Goesch - Emma Gregory Steele, buried in West Lead Cemetery was the first wife of James LaRue Steele, married Sept 23, 1882 in Monroeville, Ohio. The 1870 Ohio census shows Emma age 16 at the time, born 1854-55. James and Emma had one son Harry C. Steele born July 15, 1883, died April 16, 1911 after being hit by a train in Ohio. Emma died of complication of diabetes.
