Berwick woman worked in garment industry Phyllis J. Remaley, 82, of 249 Mary St., Berwick, died suddenly Wednesdayafternoon, Aug. 10, 2005, in Berwick.Phyllis was born in Berwick, Feb.18, 1923, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Alberta Wochley Kriescher.She graduated from Berwick High School and worked as a floor lady at Dockey Shirt Factory and later as a supervisor at Berwick Shirt Factory. Mrs. Remaley retired from the Housekeeping Department at Berwick Hospital. A faithful member of the Mifflinville Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, she enjoyed sewing, fishing, roller-skating, window shopping, and baby-sitting her grandchildren. Her husband Gerald W."Bud" Remaley preceded her in death in 1989. Also preceding her were a grandson, Gerald W. Klinger,in 1999; three brothers: Elster "El", Harold "Mike", and John
Kriescher; and a sister, Selena Switzer.She will be remembered by her six children: Sharon Batts,Virginia; Sandra Kinn and her husband, Joseph,Danville; Sally Klinger,Wilkes-Barre; Gerald W. Remaley and his wife, Joyce,rural Berwick; Pamela Lear and her husband, Randall,Williamsport;and Tammy Miller and her husband, Michael,Alaska; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; four greatgreat-grandchildren; a brother,Charles Kriescher, Berwick; and two sisters:Beverly Toth and Jacklyn Christopher, both of Berwick.She was entrusted to the care of the Heller Funeral Home,Nescopeck, where services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. with Sandro Sorge, presiding. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
