OBITUARY OF WILLIE WOODARD

Born: July 24, 1916, Oakwood, Texas Parents: Beth and Mattie Woodard

Education: Oakwood Public Schools and a Vocational Training School in Palestine, Texas

Military Service: He served in World War II in the U.S. Navy Employment: Lived and worked in Roby, Texas for 20 years until moving back to Palestine where he worked as a landscaper.

Christian Faith: Joined Pilgrim Hill Baptist Church at an early age.

Married: United in Holy Matrimony to Etta Criss in 1938 to whom two daughters were born. He also raised one stepdaughter and three stepsons.

Preceded in death by: Wife, both parents; five sisters, Corrine Micheaux, Ethel Manning, Mozell Hamilton, Josephine Shermon and Louella Douglas; two stepchildren, A.B. McChristian and Violet Jones; one son-in-law, W.T. Rogers; and one great grandson, Christopher Taylor.
