Mary Jackson Rasel, 77, of Parkersburg passed away Jan. 29, 2005, at the Marietta Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born Feb. 6, 1927, in Wood County, a daughter of the late James M. and Edna Mellinger Jackson. She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School. She had worked at Corning Glass, Sears, Hallmark and as a real estate agent. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church; had served as a former YWCA Board member; and served as a volunteer for the March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society. She was an avid gardener and a true lover of all of nature.
Mary is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Rasel Tribett and her husband, Stephen, of Fleming, Ohio; one sister, Betty Jackson Farnsworth of Parkersburg; two grandchildren, Jason and Justin Tribett of Parkersburg; one niece; one nephew; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harley "Roz" Rasel Jr. in 1995.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, with the Rev. James Kinsler officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
