PEGGY C. TUTWILER STAUNTON, VA… Peggy Ann (Cason) Tutwiler, 83, widow of Stuart "Gene" Tutwiler, of 822 Berry Farm Road, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Augusta Health. She was born July 28, 1934 in Middlebrook, a daughter of the late Crawford Cason and Hazel (Benson) Cason Clatterbaugh. She retired after 31 years from Montgomery Ward. She was a member of Verona United Methodist Church and TOPS VA 484 Verona. She loved to travel with Gene, especially to the ocean. Her hobbies were growing flowers, vegetable gardening, and playing Senior Bingo. Her favorite pastime was reading and watching TV. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ken Cason; a half-brother, Dennis Clatterbaugh; a step-sister, Doris Clatterbaugh; a brother-in-law, Jim Johnson; and a mother-in-law, Myrtle Jarvis. Family members include a son, Gary W. Tutwiler and fiancé, Beth Shifflett, of Mt. Sidney; a grandson, Brian Tutwiler and wife, Leslie, of Churchville; a granddaughter, Stephanie Tutwiler of Staunton; two great grandsons, Brendan and Brady Tutwiler of Churchville; two sisters, Betty Wymer of Staunton and Linda Johnson of Fredericksburg; three sisters-in-law, Marie Cason of Verona, Mary Frances Tutwiler of Staunton, and Marlene (Steve) Edwards of Durham, NC; nephews, Kenny (Donna) Cason of Verona and Geoffrey (Tara) Edwards of Durham, NC; nieces, Carol Hardin, Debbie Crawford, Anita Shackelford, and Teresa Cason; step-grandson, Jesse Ream and family; step-grandchildren, Codie, Allie, and Riley; a great niece, Kaleigh Edwards; a great nephew, Riley Edwards; two half-brothers, Richy Clatterbaugh and James (Marion) Clatterbaugh; step-sister, Nancy (Ray) Colvin; and an aunt, Clara (Kermit) Howdyshell. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Bob Weeks. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Brian Tutwiler, Gary Whitmer, Jesse Ream, Kenny Cason, Codie McLain, and Geoffrey Edwards. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2018, at 822 Berry Farm Road, and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
