The funeral service for Maynard Luck will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes Chapel, with the Rev. Carol Shaffer officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mr. Luck, 66, of Rochester, died Sunday (March 30, 2008) at his son's home in Racine, following a lengthy illness.

Maynard Jackson Luck was born Oct. 15, 1941, in Waverly, Iowa. He was raised in Waterloo, and entered the U.S. Army in 1961. He served seventeen years and in 1978 returned to Waterloo. He was employed as a welder at CMC. On Dec. 28, 1971, he married Jacqueline Bouard in Waterloo. He moved to Rochester in 1983, working as a lathe operator for McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing, eventually moving to their security division. In retirement, he worked part-time for Rochester Meats.

Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline "Jackie" of Rochester; four sons, William (Rita) Swanton of Vinton, Iowa, Richard Swanton of Racine, Dennis (Shelly) Luck of Kasson and Rodney Luck of Racine; four daughters, Carol Doty and Vera Barber, both of Waterloo, Pamela Ferris of Minneapolis and Tanna (Lloyd) Hatfield of Pontiac, Ill.; 23 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jessie Bogardus and Sandy Luck, both of Waterloo. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
