A. J. "Red" Dreiling, 56, died Saturday afternoon at St. Anthony Hospital here.

A longtime resident of Hays, Dreiling and his wife Alexia, lived at 2714 Ash. He was a veteran of 33 years service with the U.S. Postal Department and was post chaplain of the local American Legion organization at the time of his death. Dreiling who served two years with the Navy during WWII, also acted as service officer of the Hays Legion Post for the last three years.

Survivors include his wife, Alexia, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Barbara) Tierney, Denver, Colo., Mrs. Duane (Mitzi) Desmarteau, Wichita, and Mrs. Darrell (Peggy) Keberlein, Hays. One son, Timoth Dreiling, Goodland; four brothers, A. A. Dreiling, Hays, Paul Dreiling, Fresno, Calif., Robert Dreiling, San Francisco, and William Dreiling, Fort Keyes, Calif. Six sisters, Mrs. Regina Mondero, Lansing, Mrs. M. J. Dorzweiler, Denver, Colo., Mrs. Eleanor Frank, San Francisco, Calif., Sr. M. Catherine C.S.J., Wichita, Mrs. Hermaline Alleandorf, San Francisco, Calif., and Mrs. William Owens, Gettysburg, S. Dak.; 11 grandchildren.

Friends may call at Brock's North Hill Chapel here from 7:30 p.m. Monday until time of funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. A parish wake service will be held at the chapel Tuesday at 8 p.m., followed by an American Legion Auxiliary prayer service at 8:15 p.m. and an American Legion prayer service at 8:30 p.m.
