Charles Wallace Kidd -- Charles Wallace Kidd, 86, Calloway Heights, died at 12:30 a.m. Today, May 5th, 1965 at his residence following a long illness. Born January 15th, 1879 at Paint Creek, West Virginia, he was the son of the late George A. and Elizabeth Kidd. He was a member of the Mount Tabor Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He was formerly employed by Champion Oil Company. He is survived by his wife Gertrude May (nee Owens Cobb) Kidd; a son, Charles E Kidd, New Brunswick, New Jersey; a step-son, Bill Cobb, New Mexico; two step-daughters, Mrs. Ruth (nee Cobb) Lyons, Beckley, West Virginia, and Mrs. Katheryn (nee Cobb) Barron, Cleveland, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Dudley (Rose nee Kidd) Short, Prosperity, West Virginia, Mrs. Joe (Bertha nee Kidd) Kidd, Fayetteville, West Virginia, Mrs. Ray (Effie nee Kidd) Patton, Beaver, West Virginia, and Mrs. George (Gertrude nee Kidd) Daniels, Washington, district of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, May 7th, 1965 at the Rose and Queensberry Peace Chapel with the Reverend Hayward Lough officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Tabor Cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral home where friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday, May 6th, 1965. Pallbearers will be Garner Kidd, James Patton, Robert Underwood, John Law Jr. and Harold Lilly.
