Served in the 3rd Mississippi Infantry, CSA, CoA. Enlisted in 1862. From Howard Webb:
Born 12/11/1834 in Vancleave, MS. Post office listed as Latimer. First enlisted in CSA August 17, 1861. His commander was Col. J. B. Deason and James MacRae/McRay was his captain. He served 12 months being discharged due to health. He reenlisted the second time in Co A Steeds Battalion. His Company surrendered in Savannah, Ga. He was absent from service for three months due to typhoid fever. He had one eye shot out while in battle. He was a farmer and died in his sleep 12/29/1912. His tombstone reads Henry Webb, Co A CSA 3MsInf. CSA.

History of Company "A" Live Oak Rifle's formed on the Ramsay Place. Mustered into state service at Ocean Springs, September 18th, 1861. Mustered into Confederate service at Shields-Borough (near what is now Pas Christian or Bay St. Louis) on October 5, 1861. Also served in and around Vicksburg.

On Highway 57, three miles south of Vancleave, at Mrs. Sardin Ramsey's home(Now Curtis Bright's place) stands a Live Oak under which in September, 1861 the "Live Oak Rifles" of Ocean Springs were organized as one of the units that fought in the war between the states.

property, lives with Thomas Ramsay.

77 years old, Latimer, unmarried, enlisted August 17, 1861, MS Co. A,
CSA, 3rd Ms under Captain James McRay/MacRae. (Live Oak Rifles,3rd Regiment, MS volunteers). served about 1 year, was discharged at the end of 12 months for ill health, do not remember the exact date. Was in Active service at surrender in 1865 at Savanna G. Question; Were you absent from it when it surrendered? Answer; NO! Question; Why were you absent? Answer; Was sick with Typhoid fever 3 months. Present Occupation; Farming, when able. Live with
brother, William Webb.

West, in Jackson County, State of Mississippi, and more in particular
described as follows;
Southwest ¼ of the Southwest ¼ of Section 26 - 6 - 8 and the North ¼ of
the Northwest ¼ of Section 35 - 6 - 8, containing 120 acres more or less.

Henry married the widow of Thomas Lattimore Fletcher (of VC), she was called by several names Elinor/Ellen/Nellie Mixon.
They lived in Mobile Co AL Whistler Precinct in 1880;

Ellen Webb, 57 ms.
she died over there and he moved back home to Vancleave.
