Obit from the Democrat Star 5/3/1889, @ page 3, Mr. Daniel Webb died on
Fort Bayou on the 21 inst., after three months illness, aged about 80
years. He was one of the early settlers of this county [Fort Bayou /
Vancleave Area]

stored in the Archives of The United States.

Transferred from Co A, March 1st, 1863, Substituted for J. G. Roberts, March 1st 1863.
Steed's Battalion, Mississippi Cavalry operated on the Mississippi coast
Biloxi to Bay St. Louis) until being disbanded in 1863 and reorganized
into Millers regiment Mississippi Calvary and then the 9th regiment
Mississippi Cavalry.
Also served: Company A, 17th Battalion Mississippi
Later became part of Ferguson's Cavalry Brigade.
Believed, to have ended the war at Camp Blakely Alabama.
