With wife Margaret they raised 3 sons and a daughter in Poestenkill, Troy NY. There he was in the New York State Guard and were admiring followers of the Roosevelts. They moved to Washingtonville where he was a factory supervisor when Cluett Peobody shirt company was bought by Arrow shirts. Retiring to Newburgh NY they enjoyed family events with families of her Mangold brothers.
Charles grew up in Manhattan at 247 Cherry St with brothers Jack, Herman, Louis and Bill and sisters Evelyn and Gertrude. His father, Israel/Mendel/Maxim [Danvers] Rosenberg , immigrated in 1885 at 16 from Lomza, Nowogrod, Poland, taking the Rosenberg name of his aunt and uncle with whom he lived in Manhattan. Max had been sent to America by his parents so that he wouldn't have to be in the Czar's Army.
His mother Sarah Singman had come to New York City with 6 siblings and her parents in the Blizzard of 1888 on "The Queen" from Lithuania via England. After his father died in 1925, Sarah moved with the younger children to Poughkeepsie NY. There he married Margaret Lloyd Mangold who also had grown up in New York City.
