SIX MEN DROWNED
Six men drowned May 31st, on the North Fork of the Feather River, about fifteen miles above Oroville. They were engaged in driving saw logs for the Sacramento sawmill.
Ten men attempted to cross the river in a bat, and it upset where the current was very swift.
The names of those who drowned are A. Lemeux, W. Newman, H. Locke, S. A. Leer, Peter Gorman, S. Willard, and E. L. Phillips.
