Adam Slis, aged 54 years, died this morning at 2 o'clock at the home 221 Balch street, following an illness of two years. He had been in ill health for some time. He was born in the Netherlands and came when a small boy with his parents to Kalamazoo. He had lived here since and was well known in the city. He was for a number of years a carpenter, but some time ago gave up active work. Besides the wife he leaves seven children, Samuel Slis, city; Mrs. John TenBusschcn, city; Mrs. Arthur Price, Benton Harbor; Mrs. Anna Hall, Dora Slis, Minnie and Cornelius Slis, all of this city. Three sisters, Mrs. Peter Workman of this city and Mrs. John Workman of Chicago, and Mrs. Jake Lehahleu also survive. Kalamazoo Evening Press July 11, 1910 page 5
