Valstar, Mrs. Clara

Passed away at her home Friday forenoon after an illness of several months. Mrs. Valstar was born September 13, 1871, in the city of Delft, Netherlands, daughter of Peter Boers and Johanna Prank Boers, and came to this country in 1837, and settled in Kalamazoo. She was a member of the First Reformed Church. Mrs. Valstar was married to Peter Valstar in August of 1892 and he passed away in August of 1933. Surviving are two sons, Nicholas and James, both of Kalamazoo; two daughters, Mrs. Jean Colvin of Richland and Mrs. Wilma Taylor of Plainwell; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; one brother, Peter Boers; and one sister, Mrs. Lena Bos, both of Kalamazoo. Friends are being received at the Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home, where services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Victor Maxam officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery.
