Eula Honssinger Wilson, daughter of Emmer and Clarsa McDaniel Honssinger, was born on the family farm south of Richland, Missouri on December 17, 1919. It was an appropriate beginning, as she would spend most of her life there. Eula's formative years certainly helped to shape the qualities that defined her life; hard working, industrious and supremely devoted to her family. As an only child living in close proximity to her Uncle John and Aunt Imo, Eula especially doted on her younger double-cousin, John.

Eula received her education in a nearby one-room school house on Mount Satchel. After completing eighth grade, she attended and graduated from Richland High School.

On May 17, 1941, Eula was united in marriage to Fred Wilson and they lived briefly in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1942, they moved back to the family farm where she and Fred would spend over 55 wonderful years together, raising two daughters, Doris and Marleen, all the while engaging in cattle and crop farming. The years spent together were filled with hard-work, hospitality, and may beautiful memories. In later years she and Fred enjoyed traveling.

Eula professed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and was a long time, active member of Independence Baptist church. After Fred's death in 1996, she purchased a home in Richland and joined First Baptist Church where she enjoyed her Sunday School Class, family, and friends. Eula was not the kind of person to attract a lot of attention to herself, but those who knew her best can certainly attest that under her quiet, almost stoic demeanor was a warm caring sprite and a heart of gold.

On Wednesday, December 26, 2007, Eula left this life and went home to be with the Lord. She was 88 years old, having just celebrated her birthday the previous week. Eula was preceded in death by her parents; husband Fred, and a great-grandson, Steven.

Eula is survived by two daughters: Doris Mitchell of Bellevue, Nebraska and her husband, Ronnie, Marleen Brown of Richland, Missouri and her husband Gary, four grandchildren: David Brown and his wife Gena of Richland, Michael Mitchell and his wife Rebecca of The Woodlands, Texas; Chris Brown and his wife Jennifer of St. Charles, Missouri, Michelle VanCleave and her husband Ray of Kingwood, Texas; eight surviving great-grandchildren: Garrett, Greyson, Johnathan, Katelynn, Joshua, Caleb, Mitchell and Leslie Ann; and one sister-in-law, Ethel Wilson of Richland.

Eula lived life in a quiet, unassuming way with strong faith and devoted love. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In the midst of our sorrow, we are reminded that for those who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 30, 2007 in the First Baptist Church of Richland, MO with Rev. Edward Hamilton, Rev. J.W. Wilcox, Jr. and Rev. David Brown officiating. Pianist Janet Walker accompanied soloist Becky Lercher as she sang "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "It Is Well With My Soul". Serving as pallbearers were Chris Brown, David Brown, Gary Brown, Michael Mitchell, Ronnie Mitchell and Ray VanCleave. Burial followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Richland, MO. Services were under the direction of the Richland Memorial Chapel.
