Jeanne D'Arc Porterfield (née Vallée)
March 27, 1936 – September 4, 2023
Joan of Arc was born in Hallebourg, Ontario, on March 27th, 1936, to Joseph and Roseanne (Lapointe) Vallée, the 17th of 21 children.
In the early 60s, she met Dave Porterfield, and together they moved to Vancouver, BC, to start a family of 3 daughters: Sarah, Gloria (Cliff), and Josée.
Looking for a simpler life, they moved to the 108 Mile Ranch in 1976. Joan was a woman of action, never waiting around for someone else to do the job when she could very well do it herself.
Her talents were many, including home construction, renovations, accordion playing, missionary work, and providing a home for her family and foster children. Her legacy is wide, with a family that loves one another and all serves the Lord with her.
She leaves behind, with her daughters, 7 grandchildren whom she loves. Ronelle, Mallery, Louis, Jilleeca, Roseanne, Davie, and Olivia. She also has 11 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dave, and baby daughter, Ruby.
Well done, good and faithful servant.
