Ernest G. Walter, 87, of 761 Glendora Ave passed away on Wednesday, October 2 in Green Cross Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls.

A longtime real estate man, and street car motorman man, Mr. Walter was the first motorman on the Akron-Wadsworth line. Later he worked with Central Associated Realty Co. for 35 years, retiring 13 years ago.

A native of Mineral City, Ohio, Mr. Walter came to Akron 59 years ago. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

His wife, Ada (Carlysle) preceded him in death on Dec. 22, 1949.

He is survived by sons, Ernest J. of Akron, Gerald E. of Findlay, Ohio, and Carl J. of Copley; daughters, Mrs. Catherine A. Wren in Akron, Mrs. Helen C. Bittner of Lakemore, Mrs. Lois E. Weigel of Akron, and Mrs. Norma E. Brown in California; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Homer S. of Canton; and sisters, Mrs. Nora Tipton, Mrs. Viola Donges, both of Canton, Mrs. Minnie Pentz of Akron, and Mrs. Grace Wholfe of Miami, FL.

Services will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Billow Akron Chapel with interment in Glendale Cemetery.
