Harmon Hembree, Sr., 81, passed away, November 23, 2000, at the I. H. S. Nursing Home in Moore, OK, after a long illness.
He was born May 26, 1919 at Tushka, OK to James and Mary Hembree.
He married Hazel Beatrice SHATSWELL, September 17, 1938 at Farris, OK.
He was a devoted father of three sons and always had time for anyone that needed him through all of his years. If anyone ever had problems, be it family or friend; he was there to help. This must have been part of his reason for being here on earth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Ricky Gerald Hembree in September, 1993, and his beloved wife of 61 years, Hazel, who passed in January of this year.
Survivors include three sons, Eldon of Oklahoma City, Elvin Leon of Del City; and Harmon Jr. and wife Sinda, of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren, Stanton, Robie, Bret, Blayne, Christy, and Tiffany; two sisters Jimmie Bowman and Mary Jane Standifer, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Thanks to the VA Hospital, Souther Hospice, and I. H. S. of Moore.
He will be missed by many for he was a great dad. He could do anything.
Services will be held 10:00 a. m. Monday, November 7, 2000, at Baggerley South Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Sunny Lane Cemetery. Baggerley South 5798 S. Western, Oklahoma City, OK.
