Alberta was a devout Catholic and was active in both the St. Phillip and St. Joseph parishes. She was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary and the Stone Lake Historical Society. Alberta loved to cook, often taking classes to improve her skills. She enjoyed music and was an accomplished pianist. Most of all, Alberta loved her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who lovingly made "sock monkeys" for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, James Michael (Linda) Hand of Collegeville, PA, Steve (Barb) Hand of Hayward, WI, Mary (Dave Urstadt) Boylan of Denver, CO, Karen Boylan of Hayward, WI, and Kelly Boylan of Hayward, WI; her grandchildren, Shannon, Courtney, Tony, Tina, Crista, Sheri, Derek, Travis, Britanni and Brennin; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, plus one on the way; her sister, Dolly Balzer of Manitowoc, WI; her brother, James (Shirley) Boyle of Hayward, WI; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Alberta is preceded in death by her first husband, Cpt. James Hand; her second husband, Marshall Boylan; her sons, Patrick and Joseph Hand; her sister, Rose Forrester; and her brothers, John and Patrick Boyle.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, October 8, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 10586 Dakota Street in Hayward where visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of Mass. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Stone Lake, WI.
