John C. Boyle, age 75, of Hayward, WI passed away on Friday, July 18, 2008 at the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital.




John Claude Boyle was born December 30, 1932 in Hayward the son of John and Wilma (Blake) Boyle. He was raised in Hayward and graduated from high school in 1951. He joined the U.S. Army on August 6, 1953 and served in Germany during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on June 1, 1955. After his time in the service John moved to Freehold, NJ where he worked for Mack Truck. In 1961, John moved back to Hayward, WI and went to work with his family as a stonemason. He was joined in marriage to Marion Weingarten on December 4, 1976 in Hayward. John continued to work as a mason for Union Local 19 out of Eau Claire until his retirement in 1994. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling and playing cribbage with friends.



John is survived by his wife of 31 years, Marion; five children, Wealthy Stone of Hayward, Melody (Brian) Klockow, Theresa (William) Connors, both of Wabeno, WI, Steve (Thuy) Smith of Chippewa Falls, WI, Kathy (Frank) Flores of Scottsdale, AZ; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Jim (Shirley) Boyle of Hayward; three sisters, Alberta Boylan, Rose Forrester, both of Hayward, Dolly (Bill) Balzer of Manitowoc, WI; and many nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Patrick Boyle and one son, John Shan Boyle.



A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hayward with Pastor Kenneth Hinrichs officiating. A time of gathering with family and friends will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward. Military honors will be accorded by Hayward American Legion Post #218.
