Graveside service for Esther Scheuchzer Love, 88, of 2308 N. Third, is 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Valley View Cemetery, with the Rev. Donald E. Carter officiating.

Mrs. Love died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at Terrace Garden Care Center.

She was born Oct. 30, 1910, at Abbyville, to Frank and Sina Rose (Boody) Birket. She grew up in Arlington and attended schools there.

On Feb. 14, 1935, she married Fred Scheuchzer. After their marriage they moved to Garden City. He died in 1969. In 1972, she married Lester Love and they moved to Partridge. He died in 1980. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Scoville Birket.

Mrs. Love returned to Garden City in the early 1980s. She was a member of First Christian Church and the American Association of Retired Persons. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and traveling to Colorado.

She is survived by three sons, Larry Scheuchzer, Garry Scheuchzer and Norman Scheuchzer, all of Garden City; a brother, Vernon Birket, Napa, Idaho; two sisters, Frances Paepke, Halstead, and Glennis Godard, Texas City, Texas; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation. Memorials are to the church or Lee Richardson Zoo, both in care of Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City.
