Mrs. Thomas Blight, whose maiden name was Ruth Arthur, the daughter of the late Joseph and Johanna Arthur, was born in Superior, Wis., August 2, 1851 and passed away after a short illness Thursday evening April 17. Her parents moved to Mineral Point when she was an infant and her home was in this city from that time to the time of her death. She was married to Thomas Blight upwards of forty years ago, who preceded her to the grave eleven years since.
There remain to mourn her departure one daughter and three sons. She is also survived by one brother, Joseph Arthur of this city.
Mrs. Blight was a woman of excellent Christian character, an affectionate and faithful mother, beloved by her neighbors and friends and respected by all who knew her.
Funeral services were held at her late home on Saturday at 2 pm. Rev. C.W. Emery officiating. Burial in Graceland.
