(Russian: Ольга Осол)

designer at the Arabia factory, ceramicist, creator of the famous Myrna coffee service

was a designer, ceramist and important developer of Finnish porcelain art at the Arabia factories. While at the Arabia factories, she designed, among other things, the Myrna tableware, which was produced for almost 70 years. She worked all her life at the Arabia factory, from which she retired in 1971.

Osol was born into a Finnish-Russian family. Her father was from Latvia, and apparently because of that Olga also spoke Finnish with a dialect. In 1926, she was hired at the Arabia factory as Greta Lisa Jäderholm-Snellman's assistant. She became the manager of the handicraft department in Arabia. Later in 1943, the department became the art industry department. She designed the Myrna tableware in 1938 as folk tableware, named after Myrna Loy, who was one of the superstars of the time and coincidentally born in the same year as Olga.

Olga died on October 6 after a long illness in Jorvi Hospital in Espoo.
