Rebecca Montgomery Easterday died at her home in Anita IA April 12 1905 age 78 yrs 10 mos 17 days. Married to Abraham McVay in 1844, mother of 10 Children, nine sons and one daughter, seven now living, four present at the funeral. Deceased was married to George Easterday in 1870.
Rebecca had an accident some twenty years ago, the result of an explosion. She was badly burned at the time, and had been a great sufferer ever since. Mother Easterday was a kind, affectionate wife and mother, a good neighbor. She leaves a husband and seven children to mourn her death besides many friends. Funeral at M.E. Church, conducted by Rev. D.A. Allen and interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
