Civil War Veteran. Joined Co G 129th Ohio Volunteers August 10, 1863. Sent to Camp Nelson Kentucky. The 129th OH took the Cumberland Gap, etc. Uncle George Mustered out March 8, 1864.
Moved to Illinois spring of 1865. GAR Marker.
Married 1.Rebecca (Montgomery) McVay, Altoona IA, in Polk County Iowa January 1870.
Married 2.Sylvia Steele, Mena Arkansas, divorced.
Married 3.Catherine "Kate" Langworthy 1914 widow of 1.Sackett Sears, 2.Orson Mead. George received disability pension after 1890. Turkey Grove, Cass County IA. Had no living children.
