When she was 17 years old, her and Sonny were set-up by a mutual friend and soon atter they were married, on September 23, 1960 (just 3 days prior to her 18th birthday). They purchased a home in Shawnee, KS, in 1966.
The family moved south of Belton, MO, in 1978, where they enjoyed "the country life". Her and Sonny enjoyed campfires and the serenity of the property.
During the 1990's, her and Sonny became more and more active with riding motorcycles. They enjoyed being members with local clubs and taking part in rides throughout the city and across the country.
In 2005 while vacationing in Branson, Sharon saw a home listed on the cover of a magazine. She said, "that's where I want to live". That year they moved to that house in Springfield where she enjoyed the next 18 years. In the later years she enjoyed drives through Springfield Lake in the evening to see the deer. She loved chocolate shakes, Dr. Pepper, and candy corn.
