Professional Football Player. Samuel Davis Ball, a highly skilled football player, was drafted in the 1966 National Football League (NFL) Draft as Pick 15 in Round 1 by the Baltimore Colts. He also received a draft offer from the New York Jets in the same year but chose to play in the NFL and signed with the Colts. He served as a powerful offensive lineman for the Colts from 1966 until 1970, contributing to their 1968 Championship and their Super Bowl V-winning team. Samuel's outstanding performance in college football for the Kentucky Wildcats earned him the title of First-Team All-SEC and Consensus All-American in 1965. After retiring from the NFL, he returned home and became a salesman in the agricultural industry and also managing his own farm.
