ELSIE E. SCHWERMA
(1917 - 2008)
Elsie E. Schwerma, age 90, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at the center.
Elsie was born on Aug. 27, 1917, in Price County, township of Kennan, daughter of the late Charles and Maryann (Conjurski) Smith. She married Ervin Pozorski Sr. in 1939. Elsie loved gardening, crocheting, knitting and photography. She took many beautiful pictures of landscapes, especially the snow and ice formations on the Lake Michigan shores. She also worked at the Mirro Aluminum Company for 20 years and was also a Union Stewardess. After leaving Mirro, Elsie did babysitting for several families and pursued her hobbies.
Survivors include one son: Ervin Pozorski Jr., Two Rivers; three daughters: Pattie M. Wallander, Manitowoc, Diann E. Jindra, Manitowoc, and Carol A. Matheys and her husband, Lyle, Two Rivers; nine grandchildren and their spouses and thirteen great grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister: Agnes Cerkas, Manitowoc, and a sister-in-law: Jeanne Smith. In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by two sisters: Lucille Smith and Rose Wagner; four brothers: Charles, Louis, Richard and Donald Smith; two brothers-in-law: Benjamin Wagner, Leonard Cerkas; two sisters-in-law: Mary Smith and Betty Smith; and her husbands: Ervin Pozorski and John B. Schwerma.
In respect to the family's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
